About Us
In 2022, I had the vision to start my own business. This came to me during a lengthy phone call with my sister, where I aired my frustrations about working for other people. I've had a multitude of jobs throughout the years, most of which involved education and teaching, and one thing was always the same...I could never advance within my careers the way I wanted to or I felt stuck, stressed, anxious, and tired. I wanted better for myself. During this phone call, I talked to my sister about wanting to be my own boss and call the shots. Cue: The Man by Taylor Swift
We discussed this idea of taking the things I love (books and cider) and combining them into a business. I (of course) read a girl boss book about starting your own business and started a business plan but was not in the position at the time to execute that any further. It was always a "one day" kind of thought.
Fast forward to 2026, I was feeling extremely burnt out from my role as a 2nd grade teacher. I was left with a crossroad: do I stay another year or do I find something else? I considered other roles within education when it struck me... WHY NOT revisit my business idea? From there, Orchard & Ink was no longer just a dream, I started seeing all the little pieces come together. I'm excited to share my passion and dream with you!
